TIPS
U.S. Center For Disease Control (CDC)
It is not often a small agency gets to create an impact like that of the CDC's TIPS From Former Smokers Campaign. The M Network was hired by our partner, Golin, to provide film and video production in support of the campaign's social media and advertising tactics. Our mission was to illicit emotions and provide a serious warning to anyone currently smoking or thinking about starting.

WORDS
OF WARNING
Part of our overarching philosophy is that reality is more powerful than a script. Inspired by the anti-smoking ad from the late Yul Brynner The M Network set about capturing the real stories of smokers, allowing them to encourage others to quit. By interviewing a variety of people from all walks of life, socio-economic backgrounds, races, identities, and personalities, we created a campaign in which everyone could see themselves.
People connect with people. They inspire and motivate us to action. This why this campaign worked.
“
CDC's Tips From Former Smokers campaign helped prevent an estimated 129,000 early deaths and helped save an estimated $7.3 billion in smoking-related healthcare costs.
